Motel Room
Mandatory evacuation including my packing up all my animals, feather family, dogs.

I'm not able to write about all the horrors of surviving any disaster as what I and others have been through with surviving the hurricanes and then to learn about surviving 'surviving'.

I had to cover all my birds to keep them silent as directed by the owner of the motel. I brought each pair out on this chair with change of towels for each pair.Baby Tia is getting a change of bedding as I took her picture. She did great through all of the disaster. Both of my dogs, Xena and Buttercup protected all of us and especially the babies.Zoey and Ti Amo in their carrier. I had to buy new carriers at the pet store of the town we stayed in order to safely transport my birds back home.Looking back in how all of us lived in the motel room for six days. Motel was flooded with water and we left four A.M. to come back home. Water is about two to three inches with flooding. Both beds are covered with birds. I slept on the floor with a sleeping bag till the room was flooded.Skippy and Apollo- Skippy on top of this carrier. (Skippy is my casualty from the Hurricanes) She was with me over 12 years. Here Ojoey and Purdee, Purdee was with me a couple of weeks and Ojoey maybe days.
I had both to the Veterinarians for examinations and they were clean and that helped me with concern about their quarantine being broken.
Ojoey and Purdee for their out time. Each pair came out ten minute periods twice a day in this motel room.

Baby Tia taking this so well and developing with great speed. Amos and Annie took this in stride and seem to trust me. They could have escaped without any problems and not once did they attempt to do so..
